Waterproof poncho
Sometimes, when it’s raining outside, I just can’t be bothered to pull on full waterproofs and prefer to slip a waterproof layer over my pyjamas or superwarm clothes without feeling restricted. These ponchos are designed for ease- the lighter weight one is an absolute blessing for a quick run out to the wood pile, a walk with the dog or a trip to the shops, while the heavier weight is built to withstand a day of continuous rain such as is offered on the West Coast of Scotland.I have built in a front pocket for mobile phones, dog treats or, recently discovered, drenching guns! The sides on the lightweights are secured with chorizo buttons and the heavies, with a cute metal button. There is a Really Useful hanging loop and a perfect hood which keeps the rain off without obscuring your vision. Both items can be opened up in summer to provide a useful groundsheet for picnics. A must have for the active traveller and sometime wanderer………
